Jarret Cunnard is an Instructor with Jawbone Defense who brings a balanced, real-world perspective to defensive firearms training through his combined experience as a law enforcement officer, USCCA-certified Concealed Carry and Home Defense Instructor, and long-time concealed carry permit holder. From an early age, Jarret recognized that responsibly carrying a firearm involves far more than equipment, it requires a deep understanding of the law, judgment, and accountability that accompany the right to self-defense.

Through his professional career, Jarret has seen firsthand how defensive encounters are evaluated after the fact. He is certified in sexual assault investigations and criminal investigations, providing him with a unique understanding of how incidents unfold, how evidence is interpreted, and how decisions made in seconds can have lasting legal consequences. This investigative insight allows him to help students better understand not only when force may be justified, but also how actions, statements, and behavior are scrutinized in real-world cases.

Jarret’s instruction emphasizes lawful decision-making, restraint, and clarity under stress. He teaches students to think beyond the moment of danger and consider the full arc of a defensive encounter, before, during, and after so they are prepared to act responsibly and articulate their decisions if ever required.
