Choosing your first handgun—or your next one—can be overwhelming. Try Before You Buy™ is a beginner-friendly, safety-focused course designed to remove the guesswork and help you make a confident, informed decision before purchasing a firearm.
This class begins with a clear, practical introduction to handgun safety fundamentals, range etiquette, and safe handling procedures. From there, students have the opportunity to safely handle and shoot several of the most commonly recommended defensive handguns, guided by experienced Jawbone Defense instructors.
Rather than relying on internet opinions or sales counter advice, students learn how hand size, grip angle, recoil, trigger feel, sight picture, and overall ergonomics affect performance and comfort. Instructors provide coaching and feedback as students test different platforms, helping them identify what works best for their body mechanics, experience level, and intended use.
Common options may include a variety of popular semi-automatic handguns such as Glock 19, 45, 43x, 48, S&W 2.0, S&W Shield, Sig P365 and various other options, allowing students to compare differences in size, capacity, shootability, and concealability in a controlled, supportive environment.
