Mike “Mack” McHenry

Mike “Mack” McHenry has served as an Assistant Instructor with Jawbone Defense since its inception and has been instrumental in helping shape the organization’s practical, no-nonsense training culture. An experienced firearms instructor, Mack has trained hundreds of new and experienced shooters through Jawbone Defense and affiliated training organizations.

Mack’s instructional style is direct, honest, and grounded in real-world application. He believes effective training should be easy to understand, immediately actionable, and focused on developing capable individuals who take responsibility for their own safety. His goal is not simply to help students shoot better, but to help them think clearly, act decisively, and embrace the mindset of being their own first line of defense.

Trained under respected leaders in the defensive firearms community including Dave Spaulding, John Murphy, and Ed Monk; Mack brings a disciplined, evidence-based approach to every class. His experience spans foundational firearms skills, defensive pistolcraft, active shooter response, and church security, allowing him to adapt instruction to students of all experience levels.

Mack holds instructor credentials with the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) and Last Resort Firearms Training, including certification as an Active Shooter Instructor. His calm presence, plain-spoken teaching style, and commitment to continual improvement make him a trusted instructor and a steady influence within the Jawbone Defense training team.
